He was born Jan. 23, 1948, in Portland, Ore., to Eberly C. and Mariepaul (Arseneau) Boyd.

Surviving is one son, Burton B. Boyd of Elkhart, and Burton's mother, Linda A., also of Elkhart; one sister, Janet (Nick) Boyd-Carter of Elkhart; and his mother, Marie Hirstein of Elkhart.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Collins.

Friends may call two hours prior to Thursday's noon funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. The Rev. Ken Koontz of Riverside Bible Church of Elkhart will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen.

Mr. Boyd was a professional flooring specialist most of his adult life and spent the last 15 years as a sander and finisher at Hardwood Flooring Products Co., South Bend. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing, and was an avid collector of many things, including model trucks. He was a member of Riverside Bible Church.
