ELKHART -- Delores F. Brown, 65, of Elkhart, died at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 11, 2009) in Rivercrest Specialty Hospital, Mishawaka.

She was born Sept. 5, 1944, in Elkhart to Calvin Henry and Cecelia (Blackburn) Brown.

Ms. Brown is survived by three daughters, Robbin (Ray) Van Lake and Joanna (Cameron) Yoder, both of Elkhart, and Linda Pontius of Middlebury; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dick Brown of Elkhart, Larry (Brenda) Brown of Michigan City and Gary Brown of Phoenix; and two sisters, Arlene Drake of Minnesota and Jean Wilson of White Pigeon, Mich.

She was preceded in death by one son, Scott Michael Simmons on Jan. 29, 2000.

Ms. Brown retired from American Electronic Components after over 20 years of service. She was a 1962 graduate of Elkhart High School and the Carter Secretarial School, Elkhart. She was a member of the Teamsters Local 364 and enjoyed reading, playing table games and spending time with her family.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to Monday's 11 a.m. funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Blair Carlstrom of Waypoint Community Church, MIddlebury, will officiate. Burial and a graveside service will follow at Rice Cemetery.
