ELKHART — Deborah A. "Midget" Cawley, 63, of Elkhart, peacefully passed on to her heavenly home at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the Center for Hospice Care, in Elkhart, following an extended illness.
She was born June 3, 1953, in South Bend, to the late Victor and Wanda (Myers) Miller.
She later married William M. "Bill" Cawley on July 14, 1980, in Elkhart. He preceded her in death in August of 2015.
Also surviving are her sons, Matthew Cawley and Robert Hackney, both of Elkhart, Lance (Paula) Profitt of Marcellus, Mich., and Jeremy (Sonni) Proffitt of Middlebury; sisters Penny Miller of Elkhart, Barb (Butch) Sweet of Niles, Mich., Trula (Ted) Sisson of Union, Mich., and Connie (Terry) Hoopengardner and Tina (Daniel) Magee, both from Middlebury; her brother, Victor (Judy) Miller of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren
A memorial celebration of Midget's life will be at Saturday, June 11, with visitation beginning two hours prior to the 11 a.m. funeral at Billings Funeral Home. VFW No. 88 Chaplain Tommy Black will officiate and burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
Midget was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, painting and drawing and dancing. She was a long-time member of the VFW No. 88 Ladies Auxiliary and was an avid animal lover.
Memorials may be given to VFW No. 88 or to the Center for Hospice Care/Elkhart Hospice House.
