Deanna Gilles, 77, of Goshen, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at her home.

Deanna was born on December 26, 1948 in Clarksville, AR to the late Harlan D. Marvel Jr., and Mary (Clayborn) Marvel. She married the love of her life, Peter B. Gilles on November 26, 1971 in Granger, IN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Mark Marvel and Harlan Wayne Marvel; and sister, Vicky Gowdy.

Deanna is survived by her sons, Brian (Angela) Gilles and Jeff Gilles (Rebecca); step mother, Suzanne Marvel; grandchildren, Makaelah, Brantson and Grace; sister, Laura “Gail” Bishop ; daughter-in-law, Cindy Gilles; youngest half sister, Kathleen (Brian) Hinegardner; and several other half brothers and sisters.

Deanna's compassionate spirit extended to the cats she cherished over the years, including gentle Orion, a Maine Coon, as well as her most recent and vocal companion, Chewie.

Deanna was a medical transcriptionist who owned and operated her own business. A lifelong learner, she embraced all things technology and was always eager to expand her knowledge in computers and related fields.

In her spare time, Deanna enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint, hobbies that reflected her patience and creativity. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. Known for her warm personality, Deanna had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger—she truly enjoyed talking with others and made everyone feel welcome.

The family would like to thank the oncology department at South Bend Memorial Hospital for their support during a difficult time.

Deanna will be laid to rest at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Cemetery in Osceola.
