Dawn R. Stoner, 56, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at her home.
Dawn was born in Elkhart on December 30, 1968 to Steven A. Stoner and Cheryl D. (Zong) Stoner.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl Stoner on March 5, 2022.
Dawn is survived by her father, Steven (Jenny Kelly) Stoner; great niece, Cora Ross; sisters, Brooke (David) Prescott and Tammy (Fred) Grimske; nephew, Steven Ross; close friend and confidant, Steve Gingerich and Kelly Himes; friend Troy Wilson; great niece; and many other friends whom loved her; and her beloved pets, Buster, Pepper, Lucious, Locki and "Bob"cat.
Dawn graduated from Elkhart Central High School. She was a skilled graphic artist in the Recreational Vehicle industry at Keystone and Utilimaster. Her work ethic was unmatched and always of the highest quality.
In her younger days, Dawn was an avid bowler and played volleyball with her sister, Brooke and nephew, Stevie. Dawn had an appreciation for automobiles. She attended and participated in street cruises and drag races.
Dawn was a huge animal lover and found quiet time in nature and tending in her flower garden. She also enjoyed finding antique treasures with her family.
Dawn was outspoken and you knew where she stood. Throughout her life, she was a planner with purpose in every detail in her life. Dawn believed in equality for everyone and treated people with fairness and kindness.
Most of all, Dawn was a caring woman and if you were her friend, she would be there for you.
A Gathering to celebrate Dawn's Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.
Per her request, Dawn will be cremated. She will be laid to rest at Solomon's Creek Cemetery at a later date.
The family encourages any guests during Saturday's gathering to display your classic car in honor of Dawn in the Billings Funeral Home parking lot.
