On May 31, 2023, Dawn Widener passed away surrounded by family.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Theresa (Imhof) Randall, and two stepdaughters, Lori Lankford and Lisa (Dale) Rotenbury. Their children are Taylor Clark and Andrew, Justin, and Abbie Rotenbury of Martinsville, VA.

Surviving is her husband, Donald Widener of Elkhart; her sister, Cheryl (Kevin) Hill, and their children, Kyle (Nicole) Hill, Kelsey (Lucas) Harris, and Connor Hill, all of Shawnee, KS; her children, Todd (Kristi) Hesselbart, and their children, Mackenzi Hartwig, Maddison Schoen, and Mia Hesselbart, all of Elkhart, Shaun Hesselbart of Elkhart, and Theresa Smith, and her children, Kayla and Joshua Smith, all of Garrett, IN; as well as two great grandchildren.

Dawn loved to be around friends and family. She was always upbeat and had a great smile on her face. Dawn loved doing stained glass and other crafts. In her middle years, she loved quilting, cross-stitch, canning, and baking where she entered multiple 4H competitions. While living in Halifax, VA, she was a proud member of the Halifax Women's Club.

Dawn was loved by all. In lieu of a funeral service, a celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
