Davis had been working in maintenance at a local foam plant.
He was an avid chess player, and although no one wanted to admit he was a master; no one would dare play him either. He loved the strategy and thrill of execution of the game and spent long hours playing himself or a computer because there simply wasn't anyone around in his league. There were times he had a few guys come over to try and play chess with him and they would end up leaving angry. However, they would end up coming back over to play again but only after they had brushed up on their game a bit more. He also would find himself binge watching national news affiliates because he was just that wrapped up in politics and staying abreast on world affairs and news. Davis spent several years overseas in Korea and Germany in the Army, and the desire for knowledge about one's surroundings just kind of stayed with him. Davis served honorably as an armorer and crewman for an M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank.
Finally, Davis was an ultra-uber fan of the San Francisco 49ers. No matter if the team was the winner or loser, he was always behind them every step of the way. There were times that if they were not even playing anymore for the season, he would pass on watching football altogether because all he wanted to see was his beloved 49ers storm the field. Given Davis's love for his 49ers, the family has requested that those in attendance wear their favorite 49ers shirt or jersey or simply wear their colors of gold, red and black. When football season was over, Davis was also known to enjoy watching basketball, particularly March Madness and seeing who would play the final tournament. Overall, Davis was passionate about sports in general and was always excited to learn about new developments in each one.
