Davida Sharon "Redd" Henderson, 52, of Goshen, passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, January 4, 2025 surrounded by love.  She will be missed by many.

Davida was born in Elkhart, Indiana on Saturday, October 14, 1972, a crisp fall day, to David and Kathryn (McCreary) Henderson.  Davida was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her youngest son, Alan.  Her older son, David, survives her, as does her life partner, Eric Smeltzer of Goshen, to whom she was handfasted in marriage on October 31, 2020.  Davida is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Along her road of life, Davida met many people that she charmed with her unique ways.  She liked to use odd words and ways to express herself, and there was no mistaking her quirky brand of humor.  As she walked along that road of life, she discovered it was much more comfortable to ride than walk; the people she surrounded herself with felt the same way and they would often go riding together.  When she got together with her friends, her second or 'chosen' family, the affection, love and respect within the group was palpable; she will be truly missed.

Among Davida's many hobbies, she loved most of all to cook.  Her home-made meatloaf and mashed potatoes achieved legendary status, as did her skills in cooking over an open fire.  Davida was a calligrapher, a server, and an avid collector of dust.  Her favorite movie was "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and her favorite holiday was Halloween.  She loved dressing, decorating and participating in anything Halloween.  Another favorite activity involved children and critters of all shapes and sizes.  If it had a heartbeat, she would protect it with her life.  We pray that we can all share as much love with one another as she shared with every living thing.
