David Richard Sites, 73, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at his home.

David was born in Elkhart, on December 2, 1951 to the late, Richard and Lillian (Daum) Sites. He married Janice E. (Digiacomo) Sites on April 1, 1971 in Michigan. She passed away on July 7, 1990.

He is also preceded in death by his significant other, Gail Pifer.

David is survived by his sons, Shane D. Sites of Elkhart and Rocky ( Nongkhan) Sites, both of Elkhart; grandchildren, Nora, Stella, Shay, Haley and Zachary Sites; great grandson, Nikko Fritz; brother, Terry Sites and sisters, Linda Sites, Patty Gould and Sonya Johnson.

David honorably served his country as a decorated marksman in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Disabled Veterans Association.

David was employed in aluminum fabrication in local manufacturing businesses.

In his spare time, he watched and played sports especially football, baseball and softball.

David was a motorcycle enthusiast. While some would describe David as being stubborn, his closest friends and family knew him as a loving soul who was protective and supportive.

There will be a Graveside Service with full military honors for David at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at St. Vincent Depaul Catholic Cemetery, 1529 S. Nappanee St., Elkhart, IN 46516.
