ELKHART — David Eugene Simon, 32, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 14, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born June 1, 1981, in Elkhart to Earnest Sr. and Violet A. (Tyler) Simon.
In addition to his parents, survivors include four brothers, Earnest Simon Jr. and Christopher (Angela) Simon, both of Pasco, Wash., and Earnest Holiday and Marty Wilson, both of Goshen; sisters Miriam Simon of Tacoma, Wash., and Michelle (Davis) Anderson of Elkhart; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
David was recently employed with Thor Industries Inc. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. celebration of life service Friday, Feb. 21, at Canaan Baptist Church, 933 Fieldhouse Ave., Elkhart. Elder Robert Simon will officiate. Interment will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart. At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, a memorial benefit concert will be at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 802 W. Garfield Ave., Elkhart.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.
