David "Dave" L. McGrath, 62, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at his home.

Dave was born in Massillon, OH to Max McGrath and Shirley Smith. He graduated from Elkhart Central High School in 1976. He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Earl Habic.

Dave is survived by his companion Julie McGrath of Elkhart; children, Sarah (Eric) Clevenger of Chicago, IL, Michelle (Michael) Lentych of Mishawaka and Dylan McGrath of Elkhart; grandson Charlie Clevenger, and a brother, Robert Flynn of Elkhart.

Dave and Julie met in 1979 at Rainbow Lanes Bowling Alley and were married on May 10th, 1980. He worked as a die maker with Atlas Tool & Die for 16 years.  Dave took joy in making children laugh and he was really just a big kid at heart. He volunteered for many years at Concord Little League, serving as President from 1999-2001. His hobbies included woodworking, photography, landscaping, and monster trucks. Dave was a huge football fan, particularly when it came to rooting on THE Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. As Dave would say-"O-H-I-O"!

Dave made many friends in his life. The family asks you to join them to share memories during a Celebration of Life to be held at the DAV Chapter 19 at a later date. Per the family's request, cremation was chosen. Billings Funeral Home, 821 Baldwin, Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
