David Gregory Joseph Prawat Jr., 28, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022. David was born on January 12, 1994, in Mishawaka IN, to Gregory Joseph Prawat Sr. and Karan L. (Wagner) Goossens. Surviving is his father, Gregory Joseph (Anna) Prawat Sr.; mother, Karan L. (Gerard) Goossens; grandmother, Marge Hundley; loving sister, Sarah (Michael) Swiergosz; step-brother, David Holt; step-sister Heather Goossens; six nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
David attended Northside Middle School, where he played football, and graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School with the class of 2012. David was an avid "Gamer" and had an amateur world ranking (at one time as high as 5th on one game). He had a love for animals, enjoyed family gatherings, and playing the guitar. David was cheerful, thoughtful, and kind. He had a beautiful giving heart and a wonderful smile that would light up a room. He loved spoiling his nieces and nephews and giving hugs in abundance to them. David was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
David had been working as a material handler at SMC Trailers in Bristol. He formerly worked at Lippert Components, Champion Manufacturing and Dec-O-Art, Inc.
Services for David will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until service time. Pastor John Utley of Radiant Life Church will officiate. Burial and graveside services will follow at Adamsville Cemetery, Edwardsburg, MI.
