ELKHART — David E. "Dave" Jenkins, 73, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, in his residence after an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 14, 1941, in Claypool, to Harold Jenkins Sr. and Ethel (Correll) Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Linda Jenkins of Elkhart; three daughters, Julie (Dwayne) Nickel of Fort Myers, Fla., Jill (Craig) Saathoff of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Susan (Joe) Forche of Chesterfield, Va.; one sister, Vivian Klingerman of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Jenkins Jr. and Ronald Jenkins.
Dave was the owner and operator of the Lion's Den and the Gentleman's Den for several years. He later worked in the RV industry as a salesman.
He was a member of Granger Community Church and Elks Lodge 425 of Elkhart and served as a volunteer with the American Red Cross Elkhart County Chapter for many years.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, celebration of life service at Granger Community Church-Elkhart campus, 2701 E. Bristol St., Elkhart. Pastor Gene Troyer will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dave to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Red Cross.
