Obituary
ELKHART -- David A. "Dave" Palenick, 57, of Elkhart, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Friday (Dec. 2, 2010) at Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born April 21, 1953, in Allegan, Mich., to Al and Marie E. (Sedlacek) Palenick, and later married Nancy M. Minelli in Elkhart on July 26, 1980. She survives at home.
Also surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth M. Palenick of Portland, Ore., and Stephanie A. Palenick of Elkhart; and four sisters, Julie Randall of Shipshewana, Jean (Mike) Bowen of LaGrange, Joan Caseman of Columbia, Tenn., and Justine Palenick of White Pigeon, Mich.
He was a salesman for Elkhart Supply Corp. for more than 17 years, member of the Simonton Lake Sportsman's Club, and enjoyed boating and deep-sea fishing. He served stateside and in Germany as an Army M.P.
In accordance with Dave's wishes, he is to be cremated and a memorial service will be at a later date. Veterans Funeral Care at Billings in Elkhart is assisting with arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
