David L. "Uncle Dave" Longfellow, 70 of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 2:30 am at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart following an extended illness.

He was born in Elkhart on Apr. 2, 1949 to the late Arnold H. and Maxine D. (Walters) Longfellow, Sr.

David is survived by his brother Arnold H. Longfellow, Jr. and Arnold's wife Dana J. Longfellow, nephews Patrick L. and Brian C. Longfellow and niece Mary K. Longfellow.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting the family to fulfill Dave's final wish of cremation and to return home. A memorial service will take place in the near future.

Dave worked at Conn-Selmer of Elkhart for many years as a brass polisher, then went on to work for Elkhart Brass as well. He was a talented auto mechanic and he served in the US Air Force in Vietnam.
