ELKHART — Daryl Uselman, 90, passed away early Friday morning, Dec. 15, 2017 at the Center for Hospice Care Elkhart, after a brief illness.
Daryl was born on Aug. 22, 1927 in Ironwood, Michigan to Ovid S. and Clara Luke (James) Uselman. He married the former Irene M Tetzlaff, the day before his 21 birthday, on Aug. 21, 1948 in South Bend. Irene passed away on May 15, 2006 after 58 years of marriage.
Daryl is survived by a son Perry Uselman, daughter Cheryl (Charles) Hardin and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Hugh and Warren Uselman.
Daryl retired in 1990 as head of maintenance at Atlas Die.
He was a member of Elkhart Moose Lodge #599. Daryl loved living on the river, where he enjoyed boating and waterskiing. He was an avid ND fan and enjoyed making airplanes out of pop and beer cans for family and friends.
Funeral services for Daryl will be Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior at Billings Funeral Home. Pastor Anna Ruth Hershberger will officiate. Private burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are requested to Elkhart Hospice House.
