EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Danny L. Tevlin, 59, of Edwardsburg, passed away at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Elkhart (Ind.) General Hospital.
He was born Nov. 24, 1954, in Elkhart, to Owen F. and Betty J. (Wogomon) Tevlin.
On May 27, 1978, he married his soul mate, Melanie (Francel) Tevlin, in Elkhart.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include a son, David O. Tevlin of Portland, Ore.; three brothers, Michael Tevlin of Edwardsburg, Timothy (Tamara) Tevlin of Elkhart and James (Jill Krichbaum) Tevlin of Edwardsburg; sister Judy (Terry) Hagans of Edwardsburg; mother-in-law Norma Francel of Edwardsburg; sister-in-law Patricia Mercer of Plano, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Owen; and his father-in-law, David A. Francel.
Danny worked for more than 40 years as a painter/decorator and for most of that time was employed with Alexander Jansen Painting.
Danny was an avid bow hunter for many years and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to write poetry about his passions — hunting and family. He was also passionate about rock and roll music and loved going to rock 'n roll concerts and passing this passion on to his son, David.
The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, celebration of life service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Tom Clark will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in memory of Danny.
