ELKHART -- Danny R. Kohler Sr., 53, of Holiday View Drive, died at 11 p.m. Sunday (July 6, 2008) in Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 18, 1955, in South Bend to Richard A. and Janet Kohler. On Nov. 23, 1985, he married Judy J. Kohler in Elkhart.

She survives, along with three sons, Wayne (Buffie) Kohler, Bradley (Dawn) Kohler and Danny (Tiffany) Kohler, all of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Steven Kohler of Mishawaka; two sisters, Carol Kohler and Ellen Hendrix, both of Elkhart; and his parents of Osceola.

Mr. Kohler loved to ride motorcycles and was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and ABATE. He was involved in Toys for Tots and many other charity drives.

Mr. Kohler loved spending time with his family and founded God's Home Church, where he was the pastor. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Friends may call one hour prior to Friday's 5 p.m. memorial service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Randy Webb of God's Home Church will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
