Daniel "Dan" James O'Brien, 55, of New Carlisle, IN passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Dan was born on August 4, 1969 in Elkhart to the late, William E. O'Brien and Mary J. (Bryan) O'Brien. He is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Moser.

Dan is survived by his brother, Tim (Lesa) O'Brien of Elkhart; nephew, Tony (Meghan) O'Brien; Godson, Clayton Paterson and his beloved fur baby, Betty.

Dan was a second shift supervisor at Value Tool and Engineering in South Bend. He was also a machinist at NIBCO as well.

Dan was a member of the National Rifle Association. He had a love for animals.

In his spare time, Dan played computer games. Dan became an ordained minister who happily married off couples in their next chapter of life together.

Dan had a great sense of humor, was friendly and knew how to stretch a dollar.

There will be a celebration of Dan's life at 10:00am, Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.

Cremation has taken place.
