ELKHART — Dale T. Hartman Sr., 75, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
Dale was born on July 23, 1938, in Elkhart to the late Roscoe R. and Erma A. (Mullett) Hartman Sr. In addition to his parents, brothers John, Roscoe Jr. and Robert Hartman and sisters Irma Floor and Mary Stewart preceded him in death.
Dale married Marie J. Curtin on April 1, 1971, in Canada.
She survives as do their children, Judy A. (Norman) Rupright, Corina E. Hartman, Dale T. Hartman Jr., Allen D. Hartman and Paula M. (Shawn) Routson, all of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; and brothers Russell T. Hartman of Elkhart, Wayne (Lu) Hartman of Goshen and sister Evelyn Dunker of Elkhart.
Dale worked in the RV industry for many years and retired from Heritage Park Models. He was a former volunteer with the Cleveland Township Fire Department and an avid Notre dame Fan. Dale enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and mushroom hunting.
Services celebrating Dale's life will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where friends may visit with the family for one hour prior. Pastor Bill Frisbie of Living faith Fellowship will officiate. In keeping with Dale's wishes, cremation was chosen.
