ELKHART -- Dale Eugene Goodison, 52, of Elkhart, died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 24, 2008) in Elkhart General Hospital after a two-year battle with cancer.

He was born April 8, 1956, in Chicago to Gilbert and Bessie (North) Goodison. On Sept. 4, 1985, he married Rebecca A. Miller in Elkhart.

She survives along with one son, Dale E. Goodison Jr. of Elkhart; two daughters, Patricia A. and Geneva N. Goodison, both of Elkhart; four grandchildren; and his parents of Elkhart.

Mr. Goodison worked at Syndicate Systems Inc., Middlebury, for 15 years and retired two years ago because of his health. He enjoyed fishing, played the guitar and wrote his own music. He was a proud Harley-Davidson owner and had a 1974 Shovelhead.

There will be no visitation and no services are planned. Cremation will take place. The family welcomes phone calls to 215-2496 to talk about Mr. Goodison or share memories. He could not speak for the for the last two years because of the type of cancer he had, so phone calls would be appreciated by his family.
