Obituary
ELKHART — Daisy Katherine Harris, 78, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, April 23, at her residence.
She was born June 16, 1937, in Greenwood, Miss., to Steve L. Sr. and Ida Mae (Williams) Johnson.
Survivors include one son, Lawrence (Carmela) Harris Jr. of Antioch, Calif.; two daughters, Karen Harris of Elkhart and Dawn Harris of South Bend; one sister, Mary Agnew of Fort Wayne; two brothers, James Johnson of Elkhart and Ben (Tammy) Johnson of Richmond, Va.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Harris; two brothers, Steve Johnson Jr. and Flauzell Johnson; and two sisters, Levanda Morton and Joyce Johnson.
Daisy was a 1954 graduate of Elkhart High School.
She was employed with Whitehall Laboratories for 27 years and later with CTS Corp. for five years prior to her retirement.
Daisy was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella International.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the 7 p.m. celebration of life service Friday, April 29, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Matthew Coonan will officiate.
