BRISTOL — D. Virginia Glassburn, 90, of Bristol, passed away from natural causes at 2 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at Courtyard Healthcare Center, Goshen.
She was born Apr. 8, 1922, to the late Marion R. "Russell" and Sylvia E. (Eller) Rowe in Elkhart.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Harold; brothers Wayne and Jack Rowe; a sister, Delores Thorpe; and a great-granddaughter, Lizzie Glassburn.
Surviving are her sons Reginald E. "Reg" (Dawn) Glassburn of Syracuse and Stephen A. (Marilyn) Glassburn of Middlebury; daughters Norma J. (John) Crise, Rebekah A. "Becky" (Timothy) Hale of Bristol and Linda B. (Jack) Meyer of Elkhart; brothers Clifford (Phyllis) Rowe of Redding, Calif. and Delbert (Ruth) Rowe of Loganville, Ga.; sisters Phyllis Tharp of Bristol and Regina (James) Shank of Elkhart; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, and for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, funeral service at Living Faith Fellowship, 2601 Benham Ave., Elkhart. Pastor Bill Frisbie of Living Faith Fellowship and Pastor John Utley of Radiant Life Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen.
Virginia was a homemaker. She loved crocheting and giving away things which she had made.
She was a devout member of the Living Faith Fellowship.
She had traveled to Haiti twice on mission trips.
She enjoyed attending church, reading her Bible, spending her time with her grandchildren and visiting Fitness USA, where she swam and spent time with her friends.
