Cynthia Lou "Cindy" Rodino, 72, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Community Hospital South, Indianapolis, after a brief illness. Cynthia was born on June 2, 1950 in Elkhart to the late Carmen T. and Regina E. (Koppy) Rodino. Cynthia is one of Carmen and Regina's ten children and was very close with her family. Cynthia was proud to be in the first graduating class from Mishawaka Marion High School in 1968. Cynthia was a longtime realtor in the Elkhart and South Bend areas and was a member of the Elkhart County and St. Joseph County Board of Realtors. Cynthia also worked for and retired from the Elkhart Workforce Development office, as an unemployment specialist. Surviving is her daughter, Dr. Angela L. (Larry) Balsley; grandson, Benjamin L. Balsley; brothers, Terry (Stacey) Rodino, Steve (Ann) Rodino; sisters, Susan (Robert) Harbart, Anita Nunemaker and Joyce (Don) Bashara-Ziegler; and sister-in-laws, Jean Rodino and Mary Rodino. In addition to her parents, Cynthia is preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Timothy, and Thomas Rodino; her sister, Mary Cheshier; her brothers-in-law, Ken Cheshier, T.J. Nunemaker, and Michael Bashara; and her niece, Diedre Booth. Cynthia was raised in the Catholic faith and attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School and Church. She took great pride in her home on Mather Avenue. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved being Ben's grandmother and Alexis Bashara's godmother. Cindy had a giving spirit and often looked for ways to help others. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas when she could display her collection of snowmen. Services celebrating the life of Cynthia L. Rodino will begin at Noon (12 o'clock) Friday, February 24, 2023 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Rev. Jeremy Sarber will officiate. In honoring her wishes, cremation was chosen. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials to Real Services of Elkhart County.
