Cynthia (Kushnerick) Bonner, 69, of Niles, Michigan passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025 at Elkhart General Hospital, surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. She was born on October 14, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland toThomas and Betty (Dean) Kushnerick. She graduated from Dundalk High School in 1973 and shortly thereafter enlisted and served in the United States Army as a military police officer.
Cyndie is survived by her husband, Melford (Wayne) Bonner, 2 sons, Kristoffer (Elizabeth) Seymore of Osceola, and Kevin Seymore of Osceola. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Jake, Madeline, AJ, and Aleesa, as well as many special friends. Preceding her in death was her husband Lloyd Baker of Elkhart, her parents, Thomas and Betty Kushnerick, and brothers Thomas (Bud) Kushnerick Jr. of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, and William (Bill) Kushnerick of Baltimore, Maryland.
Cyndie was a proud veteran of the US Army, and enjoyed rescuing and caring for many dogs and animals throughout her lifetime. Cyndie worked many years at Elkhart General Hospital as a CNA and Unit secretary. She always enjoyed thrifting and the thrill of the hunt of finding small treasures and collections. In her final act she was able to donate her corneas and hopefully pass \on the gift of sight to another. Cyndie elected for direct cremation and interment at the Veterans Wall at Prairie St. Cemetery in Elkhart in care of Billings Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any dog rescue of your choice in memory of Cyndie Bonner.
