Ms. Crystal Diane "Tetal" Corpe, 36, of Elkhart, passed away quietly but quite unexpectedly at her home on Monday, July 4, 2022 at 2:19 pm. She was born in Elkhart on February 17, 1986 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric S. and Anna M. (Humphrey) Corpe, who reside in Elkhart.

Also surviving Crystal are her sons Colby and Chance Smith of Mishawaka; her daughters Kaylee and Anneliese Smith, also both of Mishawaka; her sisters Candace (Luke) Spencer and Corrin Corpe, both of Elkhart; nephews Wyatt Spencer, Nathaniel and Luca Hiatt, all of Elkhart; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, good friends, loyal work associates, a few in-laws, and, knowing Crystal, probably a few out-laws! She is preceded in death by her grandparents Maureen L. Corpe, Robert L. Corpe, Melvin B. Humphrey Sr., Ruby B. Humphrey, James C. Humphrey, and Melvin B. Humphrey Jr.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart will host a celebration of her life's story on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 4:00 pm, with a time for family and friends to gather starting at 3:00 pm. The Reverend Jeremy Sarber will officiate Crystal's services and cremation will follow the services.

Crystal was a jewel that glittered in the hearts of all those that knew her and was a blessing to her children and her family. She was described as kindhearted and altruistic; always wanting to be among the first to reach out to try to help someone. In addition, her extended family at Staybridge Suites in Elkhart where she worked thought very highly of Crystal and her fellow hospitality associates would say that Crystal was punctual, hard-working and, most of all, seemed to be the "binding tie" that kept the hotel operating smoothly.

When she wasn't on the clock, Crystal transformed into her alter-ego, "Tetal". Or "Aunt Tetal" as some would say. This version of Crystal loved the outdoors and spent countless hours swimming, sun-bathing and boating on Heaton Lake. Fun times were always had by all. She was also very conscientious about how she presented herself to others, and she loved to shop, get her nails done, and accessorize her "look", which usually consisted of black clothing with gold jewelry and accessories. (a look which she rocked, by the way…). Tetal seemed happiest when her children and family were part of her day. Crystal's greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her four beautiful children and raising them to be the best they could be.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to Crystal's children on behalf of their grandpa and grandma, Eric and Anna Corpe. Additionally, please be sure to thoroughly browse Crystal's obit page, as you are able to leave condolences and memories, post
