ELKHART — Coy Ray Stacy, 82, of Elkhart, passed away Feb. 19, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born July 6, 1930, in Summitville, Tenn., to Raymond L. and Jessie P. (Burks) Stacy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Terry Stacy.
Survivors include one sister, Clara (Arthur) Butler; nephew Raymond (Lisa) Butler; two nieces, Elaine Stacy and Jessica Butler; three great-nephews, David Butler, Chris Shirley and Dalton Shirley; one great-niece, Nicole Butler; and a vast number of cousins.
Ray was an avid historian and genealogist. He had traced back several generations and was working with historical societies in Tennessee and Virginia.
In accordance with his wishes there will be no local services. Burial will take place in Summitville Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, in Summitville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with local arrangements.
