ELKHART — Cortlin Miles Casselman, 80, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, at his home.
He was born Feb. 9, 1932, in Elkhart, to Cortlin S. and Blanche M. (Shaw) Casselman. On June 7, 1958, he married Joyce I. (Dick) Casselman in Elkhart.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include a daughter, Cari (Richard) Durecki of Elkhart; two sisters, Gloria Jordan of Dover, Fla., and Carolyn Dunbar of Kelso, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cortlin was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed with the Federal Aviation Administration as an electronics maintenance technician for more than 30 years prior to his retirement in 1987. He and his wife were owners of Casselman's Blueberry Farm on C.R. 6 for several years.
Cortlin enjoyed square dancing, camping, fishing, hunting and working outdoors.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, and one hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday, March 16, 2012, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Karen Bray of Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.
