IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Correen Cecile
Catherine (Considine) See
November 21, 1925 – June 9, 2023
Correen Cecile Catherine Considine See passed away on June 9th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family and caregivers at Hubbard Hill in Elkhart, IN. She has entered into the loving arms of her Savior.
Correen was 97! She will be forever missed, always loved, and never forgotten! Her smile reflected the dance inside her heart.
As the precious daughter of Charles Ray and Gertrude Considine, her birth was celebrated on November 21, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The family of five moved to San Francisco, CA where she grew up and later graduated from Stanford University. Her two older brothers, Charles and Robert, doted on and protected her fiercely. They preceded her in death. Her baby Catherine also preceded her in death.
Correen married the love of her life, Donald Harrington See, on September 6, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2004. They lived most of their married life in La Mesa, CA and Boise, ID. They renewed their vows on their 50th anniversary at Our Lady of the Snows in Sun Valley, ID on September 6, 1997.
Correen's greatest passion was living, mentoring, and befriending her ten children. She shared a strong Faith in God, unconditional love and unwavering passion for family throughout her long life. She enjoyed gardening, reading, tandem bike riding with Don, competitive ping-pong, sunbathing, and enthusiastically walking along any beach and any majestic mountain trail at Redfish Lake Lodge in ID.
Correen was passionate in her faith and displayed it by fundraising for the Catholic communities of St. Martin of Tours, La Mesa, Convent of the Sacred Heart and St. Madeline Sophie's Center, both of El Cajon, CA, and the Sawtooth Meditation Chapel in Stanley, ID. She loved to support and hear stories from her granddaughter, Dr. Allyson McKenney, who worked with children with HIV at Camp Hope in Malawi, Africa. Additionally, she enjoyed supporting all of her children's and grandchildren's humanitarian projects.
Correen and Don purchased and managed Redfish Lake Lodge in Stanley, ID for 28 years. Correen was hostess, greeting guests from all walks of life and making them feel welcome and comfortable. The family worked, hiked, fished, married, baptized, buried and enjoyed each other's company during the many years of comradery that it brought.
Our mom, Correen, is most depicted with a smile on her face and a most welcoming hug. She loved connection with people and had an artistic flare for life. She was very witty and loved to entertain. She loved children of all ages, especially babies. Even in her last days, she was still concerned with her children's well-being; a true testament to her instinctual nature as a mother.
We are very grateful to our Heavenly Father for giving us 97 wonderful years to enjoy our mom, who has the most remarkable, beautiful, dancing, zest for life. Her legacy and warmth will continue to be felt in our lives, and for many generations to come. Correen absolutely admired and delighted in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her ten children and their families: Darby See Lewis, CA; grandchildren: Lindsey Lewis, Kerry Lewis (great grand James); Jack and Patty See, FL; Sharon See and Michael Poehling, MT; grandchildren: Amy and Randy Bishop, (great grands Stella and Carmen); Molly and Eric Bowman, (great grands Rylie and Ross); Heidi and Casey Tate; (great grands Henry and Colter); Linda See and Michael Donald, AZ; Eileen See and William McKenney, TX; grandchildren: Jennifer and Ben O'Connor, (great grands McKenna and Will); Dr. Allyson McKenney; Jamie and Antonio Delgado, (great grand Javier); Stacy and Craig Zwerneman, (great grands Lela, Heather, and Josie); Sally See and Terry Schollmeier, IN; grandchildren: Aaron and Gina Schollmeier, (great grands Aiden and Emery); Ryan and Annie Schollmeier, (great grands Brooklyn, Reed, Grayson); Heidi Joy and Josh Harnegie, great grands Asher, Levi, and Belle); Rachel and Matthew Williams, (great grands Noah and Grace); and Joy and Brandon Hightower; Daniel and Ruth See, ID; grandchildren: Xanti Tullis-See, Matteo Tullis-See, Tucker and Katherine Marcus, and Tanner Marcus; Bridget See and Peter Anderson, ID; grandchildren: John Anderson and Mariah Anderson; Denise See and Michael Hann, CA; grandchildren: Miranda Hann; Courtney Hann and Josef Stitts, (great grand Freyja); Molly See Hardy and Chris Hardin, ID; grandchildren: Natalyia Kennedy and Nicholas Hardy.
