She was born Oct. 28, 1913, in Nestoria, Mich., to Robert and Cora B. (Ludy) Kruse. She married Arthur H. Landis on Oct. 21, 1933, in South Bend. He died Jan. 26, 1997, in Elkhart.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Supancik of Elkhart; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Eugene Kruse of Edwardsburg, Mich.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Kruse; and three sisters, Roberta Swihart, Mary Kruse and Audrey Free.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., and one hour prior to Wednesday's 11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. The Rev. Jeff Reese of Hope United Methodist Church, Edwardsburg, will officiate. Burial will be in Plum Grove Cemetery, Union, Mich.

Mrs. Landis retired from Miles Laboratories, where she worked for 22 years. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, Notre Dame and Indianapolis Colts football, crocheting and cooking.
