Cora Jane Reed, 90, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at her home.

Cora was born on July 7, 1933 in South Bend, IN to the late, Oscar Henry Chaney and Hazel Chaney. She is preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Cora is survived by her children, Donald E. (Donna) Curtis, Debra J. Shafer (Dennis Schott), Bobbie (Buddy) Webber and Lorraine (Eric) Wong; brother, Dale Chaney; many grandchildren, great grand children and great great grandchildren.

Cora enjoyed her short time living in Florida with her daughter and camping with her son at Willow Shores.

Cora worked in the manufacturing industry recently with C & G Wiring and Electromation. In her spare time, she frequented the casino and watched her soap operas. She enjoyed cooking especially her famous chicken cacciatore and spaghetti. Cora was an Elvis fan and listened to classic country music as well.

Her family meant the world to her.

Cora was a no-nonsense woman.  She loved everyone and never met a stranger.

There will be a private celebration of life service in July closer to her birthday. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN is assisting the family.
