On December 31, 1987, Connie married the love of her life, Edward "Ed" A. Smyth.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Ed, of Elkhart; daughters, Jordan (Alex) Matz of Indianapolis, and Emily (Chad) Fish of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Chloé, Audric, and Ezra; mother, Dido, of Elkhart; sisters, Dido (James) Echeverria-Gamble of MI, and Elisa (Rob) Nilsen of Elkhart; brother, Dr. Rodolfo "Rudy" (Tena) Echeverria Jr. of Fishers; beloved pets, Oliver the cat and Ziggy the dog; multiple nieces and nephews; and a loving host of extended family.

Connie received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University and practiced as a Registered Nurse for multiple decades with Elkhart General Hospital and Beacon Health until retirement, being a nurse in Michiana for over 30 years. She loved working as a family practice nurse and overall, had a passion for health and helping others in her community.
In her spare time, Connie could be found spending days outside by her pool, walking her dog with her mother, and spending time with her beloved family.
Connie will best be remembered as a loving wife, mother, abuela, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who cared for all. She, along with all the love and joy she shared, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts she touched throughout her life.
