Connie Sue Martin, 59, of Edwardsburg, passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, November 29, 2024, at her residence. She was born on September 5, 1965, to David Ellsworth and Onie V. (Overton) McQueary.

Connie is survived by her mother, Onie McQueary; siblings, Rex (Wilma) Ellsworth, Donna (John) Troyer, Lori (Keith) Chandler, and Angela Lee; aunts, Tressie McCavitt and Norma Zimmerman; host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and loving canine companion, Natasha. She is preceded in death by her father, David Ellsworth; stepfather, Arvil "Jay" McQueary; maternal grandparents, Oma and William Overton; aunt, Wilma Gygi; and uncles, Robert Zimmerman, Michael McCavitt Sr., and Ronnie Gygi.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Gary Miller officiating. In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation was chosen.

Connie was a kind and caring woman who many said had a heart as big as the outdoors. She worked for several years for local companies including Hollow Foam, E.R. Carpenter, and Vahala Foam. Connie made many friends wherever she went. She had a witty sense of humor and enjoyed playing pranks on many of her family members. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting (which her aunt Tressie taught her to do), loved cheering on her favorite teams which include the Bears and Notre Dame, and was an avid bowler. Connie used to bowl on a local league alongside her father in her youth.

Connie was truly the shining light of her family. She was always putting others first before her own needs. Connie was the most caring person you could ever meet, which included a compassionate heart for animals. She will be dearly missed by her family and all the lives she touched.
