BRISTOL — Connie Kay Caligiuri, 63, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, in her home.
Connie was born May 17, 1952, in Elkhart. She was the daughter of William Adler and Bonnie Lucille (Ormsby) Story.
On March 17, 1978, she married Steven M. Caligiuri at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elkhart.
Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Steven M. Caligiuri of Bristol; son Michael W. (Amanda L.) Caligiuri of Bristol; a daughter, Brianne H.L. (Deric) Poorman of Cassopolis, Mich.; two grandchildren, Ethan R. and Stevie L. Caligiuri, at home; sisters Brenda J. Rigley of Elkhart, Ronda F. (David A.) Griner of Marcellus, Mich., and Fondra R. (Derek W.) Webb of Elkhart; a brother, Kenneth A. (Brenda K.) Story of Bristol; her mother, Bonnie L. Story of Elkhart; and many nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her father, William A. Story.
Connie was a loving wife, mother and a doting "Gamma" to her two grandchildren, whom she adored.
Connie went for dialysis three times a week at Fresenius Medical Care in Elkhart, where many of the patients and staff became close friends over the years. She enjoyed bringing treats, giving rides when needed and helping out whenever she could. Connie enjoyed cooking, baking and babysitting.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Father Bob Van Kempen will officiate a short prayer service with the family prior to the gathering. Cremation will follow. Burial will be at a later date in Oakridge Cemetery in Bristol.
