Ciarra "CJ" JoAnn (Hammers) Thompson, 27, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at her home. She was born on November 8, 1995, in Albuquerque, NM.

CJ is survived by her loving parents, Brian (Tanya) Hammers and Carrie (James) Miller, both of Bristol; siblings, Walter (Samantha) Chaffee and Athena Chaffee, both of FL, Chloie Chaffee and Kendall Martin, both of Bristol, and Cheyanne, Lilly, Olivia, and Alayna; grandmothers, Pamela "Pam" Hammers of Bristol, and Deborah Bishop of Elkhart; beloved kitty cat, Mufasa; and a loving host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and coworkers.

CJ is preceded in death by her grandfather, John Hammers.

In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has been chosen and a private graveside service will be held at a later date at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Bristol. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.

CJ worked for Medix Specialty Vehicles for around two years.

In her spare time, CJ loved to dabble in arts and crafts of any kind, notably making a bag for her mother out of Starburst candy wrappers and sewing stuffed animals for the little ones in her family to cherish. She was also passionate about singing and was a member of her high school choir class. In recent times, she began taking up the hobby of gardening, having fun tending to her yard and growing beautiful plants. CJ also was known to enjoy taking walks, riding her bike, and playing basketball around town.

CJ had a deep love for all kinds of animals, especially when it came to cats or dogs. She enjoyed caring for them, was always willing to help one in need, and would gladly volunteer to watch her family's pets when they were away. Animals brought her so much joy and she would never pass up spending time with a new furry friend.

Most notably, CJ will be remembered for her caring spirit and big heart. She was passionate about caring for everyone and everything, always wanting to spread love, positivity, and joy throughout her life. Her creativity and kindness will forever be cherished by those she loved, and she will be dearly missed.
