GRANGER -- Chu Peng Lu, 86, of Granger, died at 1:38 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 18, 2009) in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

He was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Hupeh, China, to Fang Cheng Lu and Lee Shih. His wife, San Cheng Chou, preceded him in death in 1997 in Ohio.

Mr. Lu is survived by two daughters, Lu Lu of Orange County, Calif., and Sheila Lu of Dayton, Ohio; one son, Daw (Jiin) Lu of Granger; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister, both in China.

Mr. Lu was a retired career military officer.

A private family visitation will be at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Cremation will follow.
