Christine (Phillips) Gubi, 70, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at home surrounded by loving family. She was born on January 8, 1954, in Baxter, TN, to the late Albert and Imogene Phillips.

Christine is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Gary Gubi; daughter, Crystal (Jacob) Briscoe; grandchildren, Lucas Briscoe, Dean Drake, and Dustin Drake; great-grandchildren, Deakon, and Deagan; sister, Wanda (Lynn) Oswald; sister-in-law, Missy (Danny) Sharp; nieces, Kathy, Alice, and Sharon; special friend, Debbie Collins; beloved dogs, Cuddles, Chloe, and Buddy; and a loving host of extended family, friends, and acquaintances.

In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her son, Tony Drake, and brothers, Perry and Paul Phillips.

In accordance with Christine's wishes, cremation has been chosen and the family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is assisting the family with arrangements.

Christine worked as a waitress for most of her life, enjoying serving many through Maplecrest Country Club and other locations over the years. She was a people-person at heart and adored caring for others and meeting new faces each day.

In her spare time, Christine loved the great outdoors or being by the pool, dogs of any kind, hot rod cars, and treating herself to getting her nails done occasionally. Most importantly, she adored her family, notably taking many family trips to Florida or Gatlinburg, TN, to spend time and create lasting memories with those she loved most.

Christine will best be remembered as a loving, kind, and beautiful soul who always kept a smile on her face and was strong enough to get through any difficulty that came her way. She, along with all the love and joy she shared, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts she touched throughout her life.
