ELKHART -- Christine Michele Garcia, 37, of 3421 Whitfield Court, died at 4:56 p.m. Tuesday (June 13, 2006) in Elkhart General Hospital, after a battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born March 24, 1969, in Parkersburg, W.Va., to Paul D. and Mary (McCoy) Fox Sr., who survive in Elkhart.

She is also survived by two sons, Alejandro P. Garcia and Miguel A. Garcia Sr., both of Elkhart; two brothers, Joseph Fox and Paul D. (Lena M.) Fox II, both of Elkhart; and one sister, Jennifer Fox, also of Elkhart.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. On Friday, friends and family will gather at the Ashton Pines Pavilion from 4 to 8 p.m. for fellowship and refreshments as the celebration of her life will conclude with a memorial service. Cremation will take place.

Ms. Garcia was affiliated with the Eastlake Terrace Assisted Living Community, where she served as housekeeper and part-time activities director for the past five years until her illness required her to take a medical leave. She enjoyed being involved with her two sons, Alex and Miguel, and helping at Concord High School and F.O.P. youth baseball games.

Ms. Garcia took pride in educating others to the dangers of cancer and the benefits of early cancer detection.
