ELKHART — Chris E. Eby, 44, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, at his residence.
He was born June 9, 1968, in Elkhart to Roger G. and Diane L. (Hartman) Detwiler.
Survivors include his loving companion, Mary K. Peck of Elkhart; mother Diane (Ed) Detwiler of White Pigeon, Mich.; two brothers, Roger (Gay) Eby of Elkhart and Darren (Christine) Eby of Bristol; grandmother Roberta Hartman of Elkhart; stepbrother Eddie Detwiler of Elkhart; stepsister April VanGieson of Alabama; three nephews, Shawn, Brock and Alex Eby; and one niece, Taylor Eby.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Chris worked as a maintenance supervisor for several local businesses including Evergreen and Lochmandy Motors.
He loved to spend time outdoors camping and fishing and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
A gathering of family and friends will be for three hours prior to the 7 p.m. memorial service Friday, April 5, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Edward Frutig will officiate. Cremation will take place at Altera Cremation Services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
