Cheryl L. Arnold, 78, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born in Elkhart, IN on September 03, 1948, to the late Alfred and Lelah (Hook) Beaver.

Cheryl was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy G. Arnold Sr.; son, Stuart D. Arnold; brother, James Alfred Beaver; granddaughter, Elizabeth; and soul canine companion, Scrappy. She is survived by her children, Roy G. (Renee) Arnold Jr. and Jenean (Bill) Halsey; grandchildren, Gleynnda (John) Miller, Lois (Allen) Barber, Chris (Sierra Peters) Halsey, Linda (Jason) Woolverton, and John Halsey; 14 great grandchildren; and siblings, Darcella Kettering and Ricky Allen Beaver.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, IN. Nursing Honor Guard service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given to the family c/o Jenean Halsey to help alleviate funeral expenses. Cheryl will be cremated following her services and laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date.

Cheryl was a strong and independent woman who loved her family immensely. She worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years at Elkhart General Hospital alongside her daughter. Cheryl enjoyed serving her community for all those years but really cherished retirement and becoming a full-time grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her whole world.

In her spare time, Cheryl would crochet baby hats, booties, and towels. She was very talented in her craft and loved giving her creations away as gifts to friends and family. She was an avid reader and could be found curled up with a good Romance novel or watching game shows on TV. Cheryl will be dearly missed by her loving family, many friends, and the people in her community.
