EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Charlotte A. Swift, 86, of Edwardsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, while at Healthwin Hospital in South Bend.
She was born April 10, 1926, in Elkhart to Mervin D. Sample and Ruth B. (Adams) Kizer.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy (Billy) Jensen of Edwardsburg and Dorothy Paul of Goshen; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Mann; second husband, Wayne D. Swift; and two daughters, Penny Swift and Nancy Jo Mann.
Charlotte was employed as an LPN for several years at Elkhart General Hospital as well as an in-home nurse. She and her husband Wayne owned and operated Swift Pumpkins for more than 40 years.
She was a member of Elkhart Church of God and the Cass County Council on Aging Dance Club.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home. Pastor Jeff Reese will officiate. Interment will follow in Adamsville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
