Charlotte Jane Ostrom, 88, of Elkhart, passed to her rest Thursday morning, March 19, at Elkhart Hospice House.
She was born March 15, 1927, in Union City, Tenn., to the late Clifford and Annie (Baker) Bomar.
She was also preceded in death by five siblings, Mary L. Duke, William Bomar, Nell Fuzzell-Swoveland, Geneva Paglow and Kathryn Outland.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard L. Ostrom. They were married Sept. 8, 1951, in Angola.
Also surviving are a sister, Earline Zook of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a daughter, Vicki (Paul) Higginson of Mishawaka; two sons, John Smead and Richard L. Ostrom, both of Marana, Ariz.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Charlotte was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Friends may call for an hour prior to the 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Her son, Pastor John Smead, will officiate. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, in Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Mich.
