SALT LAKE CITY — Charles W. "Chuckie" Fayne, 61, of Salt Lake City and formerly of Elkhart, Ind., passed away Thursday, July 2, while in Elkhart visiting family. He had been in ill health.
He was born in Tipton, Tenn., to the late Eunice E. and Mary E. (Phillips) Fayne.
He is survived by his children, Wm. H. "Geranimo" Bolen and Charles, Christopher, Roshanda and Kevin (Latisha) Bonds, all of Elkhart; siblings Mary Daniels, Bobbie and Larry Fayne, all of Salt Lake City, and David Fayne of Goshen, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In accordance with Chuckie's wishes, cremation has taken place. However, the family hosted a memorial celebration of his life at noon Wednesday, July 8, at Greater Wayside Temple COGIC, 638 Goshen Ave., Elkhart.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Chuckie loved the outdoors and chose to walk or ride a bike nearly everywhere. He was an avid collector of watches and enjoyed dressing up to show off his collection. He also liked to spend time with his family and friends.
