Charles "Bud" Chew, 84, of Elkhart, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at East Lake Nursing Home.

Charles was born on April 10, 1937 to the late Charles L. Chew, Sr., and Wilma (Johnson) Chew. He married the love of his life, Judith (Crout) Chew on September 12, 1959 in Cass County, MI. Charles is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Timothy Chew; brothers, John Chew and Robert "Bob" Chew and sister, Marcine Chew.

Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judith; sons Brian (Stacey) Chew and Gary (Jennifer) Chew of Elkhart; grandchildren Brooke, Hunter, Ryan and Alex; 4 great grandchildren; brother Marvin "Jim" Chew of Three Rivers, MI and sister Barbara (Garold) Dull of Elkhart.

Charles honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a dispatcher for 25 years at Georgie Boy retiring in 1999. Charles and his wife, Judith were both members of That Church on the Rise formerly known as Elkhart Church of God. He enjoyed traveling all over the country with his wife. Charles loved to be outside, camping, mushroom hunting and fishing.

Charles always had a smile on his face, liked to crack a good joke and was a kid at heart.

A Memorial Service for Bud will be on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2:00pm in That Church on the Rise (Elkhart Church of God), 28082 County Road 4, Elkhart, IN 46514 with visitation 1 hour prior. Military honors will be rendered by Goshen DAV 15 concluding the service. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
