ELKHART — Charles E. "Charlie" Robbins, 87, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, at Riverside Village in Elkhart.
He was born in Benton County on May 7, 1928, to the late Roscoe and Dortha (Fife) Robbins.
He married Marie Wagner in 1970 in Rensselaer. She passed away in 1997.
Surviving are his children, Natalie (Ron) Pittman and Scott (Cheryl) Robbins, both of Elkhart, Rebecca and Randy Robbins of Rensselaer and Rick (Martha) Robbins of Ohio; brothers Arnold Robbins of Lafayette and Glenn Robbins of Warsaw; sisters Alma Henson of Loogootee and JoAnn Darling of Bradenton, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Friends may call for an hour prior to the noon Friday, Aug. 7, memorial service at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart. In accordance with Charlie's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Charlie was in maintenance for more than 20 years. He was a hard working man who enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Memorial donations may be given to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County. In lieu of flowers, live plants have been requested.
