Charles Edward "CC" Cross, 63, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne. After a short illness. Charles was born on July 2, 1958 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Ernest Cross and the late Olivia (Newson) Pratcher. He married his best friend and true love Betty Ann Suggs on November 27, 1999 in Elkhart. They were blessed in this blended union with four children; daughter Tangara Nicole (Anthony) Cross-Horos; three sons, Allen (Van) Cantrell, Davis (Michelle) Anderson and Joseph Crews; six grandchildren; brother Rodrick Cross; and 5 sisters, Gloria (Tyrone) Pace, Glenda (Alphonso) Cockerham, Doris Pratcher & Perry Wiley, Angie (James) Neal and Tiffany Cross; a special aunt Addie Granderson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, close friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Furlow
Charles worked for over 12 years at the AM General plant in Mishawaka, making Hummers for the U.S. Government. Charles was a proud 1977 graduate of Elkhart Central High School and enjoyed going to the class reunions. He was a member of New Vision of Life Church, Elkhart. He loved anything to do with cars. He and Betty enjoyed traveling, cook outs and family reunions, there was no one who was sharper dressed than Charles or looked better in a hat.
Celebration of Life Services for Charles will begin at Noon (12'o'clock) Tuesday, with visitation 1 hour prior at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Pastor Jonathan Brown of Church Without Walls, will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Condolences may be made on-line to Charles family at www.billingsfuneralhome.com
