ELKHART — Charleen K. Dixon, 78, passed away Saturday, February 24, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born on August 22, 1939 in Wheeler, Indiana. She married Claude A. Dixon on February 18, 1956 in Valparaiso; He died after 43 years of marriage in May of 2000. Charleen is survived by 3 sons, Richard, Brian and Dennis Dixon, two half-sisters, Nancy Ogden, Linda Eagle, and two half-brothers, Tom and Dr. Albert Odgen. In addition to her parents and husband Claude, a son Claude A. Dixon Jr., sister Patricia Sepalveda and half-sister Jeanne Scholle and half-brother Charles Odgen preceded her in death. Charleen worked as a surgical aide for Elkhart General Hospital for 22 years. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Goshen Moose Lodge #836 and a life member of DAV #19 Women's Auxiliary. Per her wishes, cremation was chosen; she will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements for Charleen are under the care of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
