Catherine M. Price, 57, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at her residence. She was born on June 19, 1964, in El Paso, TX to the late Gerlof and JoAnn (Eastwood) van Hattum.

Catherine is survived by her children, Greg Price and Jennifer Rentfrow; grandchildren, Brock and Isabella Rentfrow; brother, John (Carla) van Hattum; sister, Margaret Smith; niece, Brianne van Hattum Borggren; and nephews, Jamieson and Hamilton Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Michael Smith; and son-in-law, Matthew Rentfrow.

In accordance with Catherine's wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Altera Cremation Services, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A celebration of life will take place from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St. Plymouth, IN 46563.

Catherine had a caring heart and was very selfless. To her children and all who knew her, she was a caregiver and always put others' needs before her own. Catherine was a certified medical assistant who graduated with a Magna Cum Laude academic honors degree. In her spare time, she loved to play euchre with her friends and family members. Her family meant the world to her, and family time was her favorite pastime. Catherine will be dearly missed.
