She was born April 26, 1923, in Elkhart to Thomas and Bernice (Fry) Rowe. On July 10, 1971, in Elkhart, she married L.D. Palmer.
He survives along with two brothers, Thomas (Nan) Rowe of Owensboro, Ky., and Sam (Carol) Rowe of Murrita, Calif.; and two sisters, Patricia Hager Scoville and Carol Lechlitner, both of Elkhart.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place at 1:30 p.m. today in Prairie Street Cemetery. The Rev. Keith McFarren of Faith United Methodist Church, South Bend, will officiate. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Palmer retired in 1971 from NIPSCO gas company, where she worked in the office. She was a 1941 graduate of Elkhart High School. Along with her husband, she enjoyed fixing up mobile homes and decorating, painting, living in them, and then selling them and buying another.
