Carreen Sue Gaudet, 79, of Elkhart, formerly of Mishawaka and the Florida Keys, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 24, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital, with her daughter at her side.
Carreen was born on April 9, 1943 in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Daniel Edward and Beverly June (Armstrong) Bond. In addition to her parents, her husband Bruce F. Gaudet and twin grandchildren Alex and Bryant Parsons-Bishop preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, son David Colby, daughter Karrie Parsons; three grandchildren, Jonathon Colby, fiancé Jessie, Paige Bishop, Zackary Bishop; two great grandchildren, Abbygail, and Elliot Colby; also, a brother Carmi Bond, wife Kelly, and her sister Lynn Herr, husband Benn.
Carreen retired from United Airlines, where she was a reservation supervisor. Carreen was raised in the Catholic faith and graduated from Grands Rapids (MI) Catholic Central High School.
Carreen had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed spending time on her computer and playing Facebook games, playing Bingo, cribbage, fishing, and crocheting. She also enjoyed going to the casino. She enjoyed the water and RV (glamping) camping. You would catch her watching old movies, especially, James Bond, old cowboy and Western's, war movies and MASH. She loved See's Candies Peanut Brittle.
Services celebrating the life of Carreen Sue Gaudet will begin at 8:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Billings Funeral Home event center, called The Gathering Place at Centre 1231. Located at the northernmost building of our complex. Pastor Jeremy Sarber will officiate. Per Carreen's wishes, cremation was chosen. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Bruce on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Condolences may be made online at www.billingsfuneralhome.com
